Why Deadhorse Lodge?
We
have the best snow in the Midwest, averaging over 200 inches of snow
per year. The Mercer area has over 350 miles of well groomed scenic
trails for snowmobiling. During the summer fishing is by far the most
popular activity. The Turtle Flambeau Flowage is a haven for the avid
fisherman. The fall colors make this area one of the most beautiful
in the country. All the seasons bring out the beauty of this wilderness
area.
Why a name like Deadhorse Lodge? During the logging days a team of horses fell through the ice. Therefore, the lake was named Deadhorse Lake. Some of the many things we have at the resort:
